In just a little over a month I will be moving to Santa Fe to start my clinical practicum and it is kind of freaking me out. I've never lived alone or away from home and I have never lived with a roommate. How am I going to function? The only thing keeping me from worrying about this stuff is all the fun shopping I get to do for the apartment :)
Robin and I pretty much have everything covered as far as the kitchen/dining area, bathrooms, and a majority of the living room are concerned but I still need to get my bedroom stuff together. It is less than half the size of my current bedroom so I have to get really creative with how I decide to furnish it. And I have a little more than $1000 to furnish it with. Since I will only be there for 6 months I don't want to go too crazy with the money. I think I will keep visiting all the thrift stores in town and try to find something cool for me to use.

Since I'm getting a twin bed to conserve space I had been finding it a bit difficult to find bedding that I could tolerate and didn't have rainbows or unicorns on it but I finally found something that I can work with from Target and my order has been shipped! excitement!

Power to the Ninja Turtle face!
I always forget about this thing. I want to start updating this thing at least twice a week. I think that is reasonable.
I should be studying. I need to stop distracting myself with other things.
My last Micro exam before the final, yay! I love Microbiology but Genetics still has my heart <3
And I have to say that I LOVE my dunderhead friends. You all are awesome awesome people. Thanks for keeping me entertained and distracted on facebook all day :)
Also, I've downloaded and started season 4 of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia .... my current obsession.

Starting over ...

Happiness ...
I just received an e-mail from my former college adviser informing me that she would be happy to write a letter of recommendation for me =) I sent my transcripts in and the letters of recommendation are on their way to the UTHSC, yay! Now I'm anxious for an acceptance letter ^_^

School/Career update!
Summer is here but I can feel the Fall 2008 semester creeping up behind me. I have been juggling around a couple of options for the past couple of months which included:
1) Find a job
2) Apply for more school
3) Continue on as a lazy bum
I placed my resume on Monster a couple of weeks ago and have received four our five calls regarding open lab positions but I have decided to go with option number 2 and applied to the UTHSC to study cytogenetics (which has become my passion as of late). I've been busy the past few days gathering and sending all the paperwork the school needs. I was feeling a little worried and overwhelmed about the situation (because the school accepts only 10 students into the program) when I received an email from the Biology chair at my alma mater regarding a reference request I had sent him. He informed me that he is willing to support me any way he can and told me that he was confident in saying that I would get accepted based on his knowledge of the program. That definitely brightened up my outlook on things!
Now i must find a summer job to hold me over for the summer because I need money!
